
Allante Lumas, Ph.D., LSSP
Provisionally Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Specialist in School Psychology
Dr. Lumas graduated with her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Michigan. She went on to obtain her masters in School Psychology at University of Detroit Mercy in 2015. In that same year, Dr. Lumas became a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology and relocated to Fort Worth, where she worked as an LSSP in Fort Worth ISD. While working in Fort Worth ISD’s psychological services department, Dr. Lumas returned to academia to pursue a doctoral degree in School Psychology at Texas Woman’s University. Additionally, Dr. Lumas completed her pre-doctoral and post-doctoral internships at Fort Worth ISD and ultimately obtained her doctorate in School Psychology in 2022 from Texas Woman’s University.
As part of her doctoral training, Dr. Lumas completed clinical experiences in DFW school districts, Cook Children’s Medical Center Neuropsychology Department, and private therapeutic settings. While at Fort Worth ISD, she was a supervisor of interns and practicum students, developed staff trainings for transgendered students, provided therapy and social skills, and completed psychoeducational evaluations. Additionally, Dr. Lumas was recognized as a Professional Staff Member of the 22-23 school year at Jacquet Middle School.
Dr. Lumas’ impact on the profession can be felt through her work on systematic change, development of behavioral interventions, research on disproportionality and discipline, and efforts to address emotional, behavioral, and academic challenges. A primary focus of hers has been to serve the culturally and socioeconomically diverse populations in the community through the identification of mental health conditions and to provide appropriate consultations and interventions as warranted.
Dr. Lumas maintains membership in the Dallas/Fort Worth Association of School Psychologists, National Association of School Psychologists, and Texas Association of School Psychologists. As of recent, Dr. Lumas was awarded the Outstanding School Psychologist Doctoral Level by the Texas Association of School Psychologists (TASP) in 2022. In July 2024, Dr. Lumas officially transitioned from the public school system to join the Brainstorm Learning team on a full-time basis.
Dr. Lumas believes that everyone has a story and the more we can own our stories, the more choice and control we have over writing the next chapters. Every person is unique and special, and she is committed to providing avenues for expression, self-exploration, and growth in a welcoming and supporting environment. Dr. Lumas enjoys working with children, adolescents, and adults with issues related to parenting skills, anxiety, depression, oppositional behavior, anger management, self-esteem/self-concept, learning disabilities and ADHD, Autism, and complex medical issues.
In her free time, Dr. Lumas enjoys spending time with her husband and seven children. When not busy with parenting duties, she enjoys riding horses, fishing, watching documentaries, movies, and TV dramas, and relaxing with family and friends.
