Jordana Mortimer, Ph.D., LP, LSSP

Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Specialist in School Psychology

Dr. Mortimer, Ph.D. graduated with her bachelor’s degree from Texas Wesleyan University. She went on to obtain her doctorate in School Psychology, with a specialization in School Neuropsychology, in 2011 from Texas Woman’s University. As part of her doctoral training, she completed clinical experiences in several local DFW school districts, Cook Children’s Medical Center Neuropsychology Department, and private practice. Her pre-doctoral internship included a rotation on the Transitional Care Unit at Cook Children’s Medical Center and providing counseling in local homeless shelters. While in Fort Worth ISD, Dr. Mortimer was a supervisor for the American Psychological Association (APA) approved internship program, was coordinator and member of the multidisciplinary Autism team, provided therapy and social skills, and completed evaluations.

Starting in 2017, Dr. Mortimer joined Brainstorm Learning, LLC. Dr. Mortimer specializes in providing comprehensive neuropsychological and psychological evaluations to determine each individual’s unique learning and thinking styles, as well as social and emotional functioning. While evaluations can provide understanding through diagnosis, Dr. Mortimer’s goal for each evaluation is to help individuals learn about their own personal strengths and areas of growth. Most importantly, Dr. Mortimer strives to provide the most current research-based methods for clients and their families to gain support.

Dr. Mortimer was awarded the Outstanding Graduate Student, Doctoral Level, by the Texas Association of School Psychologists (TASP). She was awarded Outstanding School Psychologist Doctoral Level by TASP in 2017. Most recently, Dr. Mortimer was nominated as a “Mom approved” psychologist through DFW Child magazine in 2020 and 2021.

Dr. Mortimer enjoys consulting with parents on grace-based strategies to decrease behavior problems and bring more peace into their homes by using strategies that can be implemented immediately. In 2021, she co-created Mind & Child, and a Parenting 101 course, as a way for parents to access evidence-based strategies more easily than the nature of one-on-one private practice allows. Personally, Dr. Mortimer is blessed with a husband and two children. She enjoys spending her time reading, playing board games as a family, but most often can be found cheering her kids on the sidelines at soccer.
